Hey, I've Been Tagged!!

I've never been tagged for a meme before, and now twice in one week. Wow! Amanda at The Rowdy Pea tagged me for an Eight Random Things meme. And Littlegreen tagged me for a very similar Four Random Things meme. Let's just overlap them and do eight, shall we?

But first, the rules:
  • Link to the person who tagged you.
  • Post the rules.
  • Name 8 things that others don't know about you
  • Link to 8 other bloggers
Okay, these may be sort of lame, but here goes:

1. I've had babies in all three decades--my 20's, 30's and 40's. I had my last baby at 41!
2. I have a master's degree in English but don't "use" it. In my 30's I went back to school to become a nurse and I work as a school nurse at a high school. For someone with a master's in English, it's kind of surprising that I never get to read a book anymore.
3. Sometimes I listen to Dr. Laura in the car. I find her articulate and entertaining and some of her viewpoints are kind of interesting! But she would totally disapprove of me--I could never call her--she'd just rake me over the coals and never get to my question!
4. I have some pretty "lowbrow" tastes in food (um Poptarts? You get the idea).
5. I read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn just recently, right after Rainer was born, and I loved it and now it's one of my favorite books ever.
6. My first car was a 1976 Monte Carlo.
7. I "skipped" my senior year in high school and went straight to college after my junior year (by taking a test). Never regretted that--I was not a "high school" person.
8. I lived in Kansas for 9 years off and on. My daughter was born in Wichita, but most of that time I was living in Lawrence. I'd move back to Kansas in a heartbeat if I could. Love love love it!! I'm a native Californian, but never imagined I'd end up in Southern California.

Okay that's it!! I tag anyone who would like to participate in this meme. Enjoy!

I never knew you were a school nurse-- I always thought (assumed) you were a teacher. And I'm not "using" my degree either (in social work) but I always wanted to be a nurse.
I never read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, maybe I will read it now.
I love the "lowbrow" food one, it's true for me too at times! I have a bag of sour patch kids just waiting for me in my sock drawer.

Thanks for playing :) It's fun to learn little bits about our online pals.
