Saturday we took a day trip to Newberry Park and Westlake. First stop was Ventura, though, where I had my monthly Weight Watchers weigh-in, followed by pastries and yummy coffee at Royal Bakery. Then it was off to Newberry Park for the Gem and Mineral Show, which was fun. Ken found what he was looking for, then we took the boys to an adjacent playground. Rainer really started sitting up, so it was his first sitting in the sand experience. He liked it.
After the park we had lunch at Bristol Farms then went to Westlake High School for Ben's Jazz Band competition.
