We got out for a hike Saturday morning and it was just what we needed. Rainer is still pretty weak, but that was okay. He mostly got carried around or sat by the creek throwing in rocks.
We were lucky to have the place all to ourselves. Dieter pretended we "lived" there and named the different areas as various rooms in the "house." I love that kind of pretend play.
Eventually we want to find a "spot" in nature that is more remote. But for now our little creek visits are just right.
Hope you all had a great weekend too!

I'm so glad to see you all out in the world! It looks like a delightful fall scene despite the temperatures.
That looks like such a healing day!
It must have been wonderful for you guys to get away from the world and spend some time with your boys. Thats how it should be. Theres something so powerful to be alone with your children, in nature, away from the chaos and noise of people.
It warms my heart to see your little family. Much love, ClareX
i remember doing the same thing when i was little: making little houses with rooms out in the woods. sounds like a wonderful, restorative day.
"leaves" are some of my best finds when I'm out hiking. I don't find them often, but when I do, it brings a smile to my face. We created a 'leave' when we were in Grand Marais this past summer. It was beautiful - as is yours. Wish I could stumble upon it.
I am glad to see you were able to get out and about and enjoy the weather and nature!!
it looks like such a peaceful place by your creek...i love the idea of the little nature table for someone else to find. cute...it must be great for you to be home and enjoying the outdoors together.
