summery meal

I snapped an un-planned picture in the middle of this because it was so very good--a meal of fresh berries from farmer's market (thanks to Ken for braving the market), fried zucchini (from a zucchini just picked from our yard), and the last of a watermelon. Loved this. The recipe for zucchini fries is here. I'm a huge fan of fried zucchini and these were especially fresh and yummy and zucc-heavy.

Yummy--you can make anything taste good by frying it. Love your placemats.

Mmm, zucchini! Our farmers market has huge ones later in the summer, but none yet. Those berries look ridiculous, too. Yum!

Yum! I adore the stoneware dishes you use to put your food in. Did you make them yourself?

P.S. Your food pictures always make me HUNGRY! :)

Hi Denise. No, we didn't make any of them--they are just variously acquired over the years. The pot holding the flowers was made by neighbors years ago when I lived in Wichita (another lifetime ago, it seems). I love it and I always think of them when I use it.

The stoneware is beautiful! I may have to look for some pieces myself, they would brighten up any meal! :)
