easter grass

starting a basket of grass for easter

Yesterday the boys and I started this basket of grass for Easter. We haven't done this in awhile, but I used to try to make one every year. You can use it as a springtime centerpiece and nestle Easter eggs in it. It's a really fun project and nice looking too, I think.

Just fill a basket with potting soil (line it with a plastic bag first), sprinkle some grass seed over the top, and then sprinkle a bit more soil over the seeds.  Water it with a plastic spray bottle whenever you pass by.  I hope we're not too late starting this.  Easter is in two weeks, so hopefully it will be enough time.   You can see a finished one here.
