scenes from the weekend

Crazy January warm snap. We're sunbathing and swimming! Ben is turning 20! Brothers. upload upload At the park. Drawing at the park. His creations: Lavanoxic and Volcanno 2.2. At the zoo. arm span Carpinteria state beach. cupcakes!

It was a warm January weekend! We even went swimming on Saturday and that was delightful. It's funny, because just last weekend everyone was walking around in coats and it had been a cold winter so far.  One week later we are stripping down to swimsuits!  Crazy weather.

We celebrated Ben's 20th birthday, went to the zoo, went to Crushcakes, and visited various parks.  It was a good weekend, and now we are looking at a short week, which is ideal.

Oh, and I tore through this book.  Fascinating!  Maybe I'll do a blog post about it later.  I loved it.  (And on a side note, it felt so good to have a book that I couldn't put down.  I love that feeling.  I wish I could find more books that have that effect on me).

Wow! You packed alot in. The last book I couldn't put down, and woke up in the middle of the night to keep reading, was "Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar" by Cheryl Strayed, the author of "Wild". Have a great short week!

love the sunshine and flipflops as we just got back from Whistler, always fun to see what is going on weatherwise not to far from me :) That books sounds interesting, I'm going to have to find it at the Library. I have this new thing this year about utilizing the Library, so far so good...but we are only 25 days in. Do you use your library much?

Thanks for the comments, everyone. It is heartening to know that I still have readers!

Mamie Girl--thank you!

Marissa--I will have to check that out. Thanks for the rec.

Sarah--no, not really. I just can't hack the overdue fines. For some reason, having to stop after work and return the books puts me over the edge. It actually feels cheaper to buy the book from the start!

Amy--thanks. The calendar is the Nikki McClure calendar. I buy mine every year from Buyolympia.com. I really enjoy it!
