trip to lawrence

I had a great time visiting my friend Carrie in Lawrence, Kansas over the first few days of Thanksgiving break.

I'm no vacation photographer (at all)! If I were, I'd have tried to capture some of the beauty of the old houses and neighborhoods (they fascinate me) and the historic downtown. Instead, I stayed mellow and just took random snapshots of pretty things that I liked.

It was so great just hanging out with Carrie,  going to stores, going out for coffee, eating in restaurants.  We even saw the new Twilight movie!  It was just what I needed after a stressful fall and talking with Carrie grounds me so much.  I'm so lucky to have a friend like her.

Your photos are really good. You have a great eye. I am going to have to pay much better attention to my surroundings because, in your photos, everything looks so beautiful.

So glad you got such a lovely break. I think you're a wonderful vacation photographer--you capture all those little details most of us tend to take for granted. Makes me want to go there, too!
