letter sending

letter sending letter sending letter sending letter sending letter sending letter sending

You guys, I had so much fun putting together your little envelopes. These went out in two batches--one smaller batch before my trip and the rest went out after I got back.

It was really fun using up some of my cards and postcards.  One thing that Gretchen Rubin writes about on her Happiness Project blog is the concept of "spending out"--e.g. using up your good soap, writing on your nice stationary, burning your favorite candles, etc.  That's what it felt like to send out all these little notes.  It really was happiness inducing!

Related:  I also tore into a lot of my old back issues of Martha Stewart and such for pretty tear sheets.  It was the same feeling of spending out and putting some of that beauty out into the world and hopefully now there are some tear sheets and recipe inspirations on your boards.

This was really fun.  Maybe I will repeat this summer with warm weather inspiration.

I loved getting real mail! Thank you. It was heartfelt and fun to see the things that you choose. And now our boys want to make the delicious looking peppermint cookies, can't say I mind!

It was lovely to get my envelope of goodies. I have been trying to get more into the swing of using all the 'special' things. Cutting into the fabric, using the beautiful candles etc. like you mentioned. I do love your squirrel tape dispenser!

Thank you! It was so fun to get handwritten mail! And I have plans for reciprocation soon. I've been trying to remind myself to "spend out" every time I think about "saving" or "keeping nice" some thing or other. It's a good reminder. Now tell me, where did you get that adorable washi tape dispenser???
