Earlier this week we traveled to Fresno and I had a wonderful visit with my good friend Sylvia. I grew up in Fresno, and Sylvia and I met when we were both students at Fresno State in the 80's. Good times, I tell you.

It had been two years since I had seen my friend, so we had an awesome time just chatting and catching up and going around town doing "Syl and MB" things. One evening we went for a lovely nature walk--we must have seen over 30 bunnies hopping around at dusk.

Also in the two years since I'd seen them, Syl and her husband Jim had bought a lovely home built in the forties. I loved seeing it--they have decorated it so beautifully. Sometimes Fresno can be the butt of jokes, but I've always had a soft spot in my heart for it and it was an awesome place to grow up.

Regarding the photos:
1- 2.  Scenes from a nature walk at dusk.
3.  I love to photograph dairy when I am out of town.  Often the labels are different and so pretty!
4.  Lunch at La Boulangerie.
5.  Sweden sticker--it came with the house!
6.  Lichen + mantle.
7.  Quail sign.
8-9.  Scenes from the patio.
10.  Bookcase detail.

I had a great visit, my friend.  Can't wait to see you again soon!

Looks like fun! Neat to see a Fresno post, just moved away from there a year ago. Was only there about 8 years, but it grew on me as well. :)

I've loved visiting Fresno in the past, I wasn't even aware that it was the butt of jokes, maybe Cali jokes? Glad you had a wonderful visit. The dairy aisle photos are fun, I never thought about how variable the dairy aisle is but that is so true, even from one store to another.
Have a lovely weekend.
:)

I've read your blog for a long time, but had no idea you were from Fresno. I grew up in the foothills east of Fresno. Since my family all still lives up there, we are there a lot. My best friend from those years even worked at La Boulangerie!
