weekend report

139/366 :: parking lot flower 140/366 :: Ikea pencils lunch at ikea swedish festive drink towels at target margarita flan

Carrie and I had such a fun "friends" weekend! She flew in from Kansas and I picked her up and we headed to Covina.  It was just a quick visit so we stayed down there--it was pure girl time. Besides Ikea shopping and two Target runs, there was lots of conversation, going for coffee, a dip in the hotel pool, eating, talking about books, looking on stuff online, and getting our toenails done.

Cup of Jo did a post a while back, asking "would you ever take a vacation alone?" I don't know about going alone, but it was super fun taking off sans family and meeting up with a dear friend. How about you? Would you leave the family behind for a "friends" weekend??

I think I would go insane alone. I like to talk and talking to myself won't cut it! However for 6 years my best friend and I have gone to Maine for a 5 day 4 night girls get away and it's the best thing I have done for myself and my family. I always come back refreshed.

Alone sounds way too lonely. But I'd take one with a friend in a heartbeat! Girl time sounds fabulous!
Looks like you two had a wonderful time.

I have taken vacations alone and loved them. Only short ones. But yes, with a friend is even better!

Oh wow, that sounds heavenly! I don't think I could do awhole trip alone, although when my husband travels for work I'm a little jealous just imagining the time alone at the airport! All that time to read and sip a cup of coffee...

Covina!!! I grew up around Covina and my BFF lives in West Covina. Reading your post made me miss her even more. Sigh.

Hope all is well!

Lisa Renata--I totally need some Covina/West Covina recommendations. Where should we eat? What locally owned businesses do you recommend? We did patronize one locally owned place--Century Nails. Just a little hole in the wall, but we got great pedicures there.
