torn from 'whole living' this month

torn from this month's Whole Living
I am *trying* to be better about using my magazines and then moving them along -- either to recycling or the library (if they are still pretty much intact) so that they won't pile up so much. I use the clippings in my various little notebooks or files. Here's what I saved this month . . .

torn from this month's Whole Living
:: I want to make this dark chocolate bark with sea salt and pistachios. Yum!

torn from this month's Whole Living
:: I loved this piece on mindful eating--such a good reminder of slowing down and enjoying your food. Very relevant to what I'm doing right now with the weight loss.

torn from this month's Whole Living
:: I'm definitely trying these "recipes" for homemade perfumes. Just blend essential oils as listed into jojoba oil and dab on pulse points. I'm really excited to try this. I'll blog it when I do.

torn from this month's Whole Living
:: I'm ready for some recommendations for natural deodorants. I'm getting tired of making my own and am on the lookout for a new one. I'm especially interested in the one mentioned that only has to be applied once every few days. That would suit me perfectly.

Also clipped: book recommendations to file for later and a small piece on morning rituals, which I'll take into my health notebook.

Do you clip magazine articles? Do they end up being useful or just contributing to paper clutter? I'm trying very hard to only clip what I truly find useful then to distribute it to where it belongs pretty soon. The recipes for Thanksgiving side dishes look delicious to me, but they are only aspirational, not something I would realistically make, so I did not cut them out.

I really don't buy magazines anymore, but I like the idea of clipping them.

That bark look delish. We made something similar a few years back for gifts. The pumpkin seed and dried cranberry went down well, especially on white chocolate.

had to comment . . . can't wait to try that bark myself!!! I did try the stuffed acorn squash from the same issue and it was delicious!!! even my girls (4 and 7) ate it!! mostly the filling though - they weren't too fond of the squash (it was the best part) anyways . . . I do clip magazine articles when I am ready to get rid of the rest of the magazine - i put them in plastic sleeves and shove them in a three ring binder - not too organized yet - recipes mingle with home decor ideas . . .

I have a hard time cutting up magazines so they end up piling up. I'm so far behind on making a new batch of deodorant I've been stealing my husband's for weeks! I just can't seem to find/make the time. Sigh.

I do clip. And I am trying to be more intentional about it. I have a plastic sleeves folder that I put recipes into. If they are small I glue a bunch on one page first. I have a black blank journal that I glue bits of beauty(a hardcover pininterest) into for later inspiration. And another garden journal. I need one specifically for health and tips.
Blessings!

Regarding your search for a natural deodorant, I find both the Kiss My Face roll-on and the Tom's of Maine unscented roll-on work very well. I also travel with the deodorant crystal, and that works fine too. The Tom's stick, however, definitely does not work for me.

that is one of the magazines I consistently find things I enjoy in, either to make, bake or think about - lucky for me my ma has a subscription and she gladly passes it over when she's through with it (all pages intact of course!)
