santa barbara art museum

SB art museum
I had the day to myself on Saturday and decided to drive to Santa Barbara and go to the art museum. I've never been there without a little boy literally tugging on my arm, hurrying me along. In truth, I think they are very good sports whenever I take them there, but it was so fun and relaxing to get to walk through on my own this time. I took pictures in the galleries where it was allowed. I was so attracted to these brightly colored pieces. I thought you might enjoy seeing them too.

Also on Saturday, I shopped the sale at Anthropologie, got a bowl of turkey chili at Crushcakes, went to Chaucer's bookstore and looked around for as long as I wanted, had a cup of coffee, and hit the Trader Joe's on Milpas before heading home.

What's your favorite way to spend a day to yourself?

this looks so wonderful Mary-Beth...and it got me thinking, and I truly don't know what I'd do...last few days I had booked in by myslef with hubby..I totally went into work (am a teacher and every second counts! esp decluttering/organinsing without many 5 year olds there)...such a geek...but am thinking what I might like to do next time I book in a day...hmmmm.

That sounds like a good one!
I love going to matinees by myself. I also have this fantasy of going to the ocean in Maine-off season. Renting a little cottage for the weekend that overlooks the sea and knitting and reading and just being for a full 48 hours. ah.....

What a wonderful day you had to yourself! I would love a day to do the same - go at my own pace, slow down & enjoy the peacefulness.

Sounds like a lovely day. Just wondering--why have you not given any information about the artists? It would be nice to be able to look them up.

And on a serious note, would you be happy if someone quoted your blog without giving you credit? As an artist, I personally am delighted to share my images, but I prefer to be asked; a link to my site is nice; and at the very least give me credit for the work. Which is pretty much what I would expect to do should I use your words.

Oh well, at least you're looking at art!

Frances--you are right. I honestly hadn't considered that, but I should give the artists credit. Unfortunately I didn't jot down their names or commit them to memory, just enjoyed their works.
