We are on staycation around here, which means that for the next week and a half we'll be emphasizing mostly summery fun and relaxation (except for today. Today I'm going for a root canal . . .). So yesterday we kicked off our staycation with a trip to the zoo. We had a blast watching the capybaras, who put on such a good "show" for us. Usually I think of them as just lying there, but they were the most active animals at the zoo yesterday. So cute and strange! A great combination. We'll be taking other day trips and are planning to go see the Winnie the Pooh movie on Wednesday. Dieter was super cute last night, saying, "this was the best day of staycation ever!"

It's fun to stay home (or close to home) isn't it? We've done a little too much running around this summer for my taste.

I would love to see the new Winnie the Pooh movie- I love the "look" of it- they way I remember Pooh. My kids feel they are too old for it- so I will have to wait for DVD, sadly.

Enjoy your staycation! And good luck with the root canal!

Enjoy your staycation! I just had one myself the week before last. I wish it had never ended. Everyone kept asking me "where are you going?" then looked at me crazy when I said "well I'm staying right at home". I love it every time.

Very fun!! I'm a stay at home kinda girl these days. It's the only way a "vacation" for me is ever relaxing. lol.

kunklebaby--I can totally relate. Vacations are usually just super stressful for me, especially vacations with little kids in tow. At home we can follow our usual routines and sleep in our own beds at night, and just pump up the fun and relaxation component. Love it!
