{"momcat" mug given to me by my mother for mother's day--it's "vintage"--my brother gave it to her in the 80's!}
This week I . . .
- switched over to using my French press for morning coffee (instead of this)
- was stressed out
- enjoyed the Planet Money podcast on medieval economies (so interesting! here)
- finished and photographed my green skirt
- enjoyed wearing thrifted clothing
- started "Polar Bears Past Bedtime" with Dieter
- thought I missed Dieter's "Teddy Bear Picnic" at his school (but it turns out it's next week)
- chose some new recipes from my "to try" file
- geeked out and bought two special royal wedding magazine issues
- tried Angry Chicken's slaw with magic sauce and it was yummy

Those pancakes look magical! And I'm pretty sure that my aunt or grandmother had that mug - nice. My to-do list is a mile long at this point, so I'm thinking of just burning it and seeing where life takes me this week...we'll see how that turns out with my Type-A. ;)
Dieter and Finn should hang out. Finn is in a serious Magic Tree House phase. More than any of my older kids ever were (and they all loved them). He listens to an average of 2 books per day on cd (which is about 1.5 hours EVERY DAY). Anyway, love the mug! I need to go back through your archives for recipes. My hubby and I are doing a vegan month for May, and I know you have lots of inspiration there. :)
any chance you might share your recipe for those pancakes - they look so fluffy and delicious. Love your blog, haven't commented yet but read regularly.
Janelle
Sure, Janelle. Here you go:
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 T. oil
1 egg, beaten
1 t. baking soda
1 t. baking powder
Let rest for at least 20 minutes before making the pancakes.
Could you tell me which special royal wedding magazines you bought. I don't know which one to purchase.
Mary Jane--we got the Life and Newsweek special issues. We especially LOVE all the childhood photos and pictures of Diana.
