I've been experiencing a renewed interest in my old recipe journals. I had pretty well abandoned them for quite awhile (because it is so hard to look things up--the order of things is totally random-- and also because I am still loving this system for my everyday go-to recipes), but lately I've been pulling out this old book and adding stuff in--mostly recipes from my "to try" file, either ones that I still have yet to try or ones I've recently made. I like the visual presentation here. It's much nicer to have the recipes in book form rather than a tremendous stack. And I'm all about the tape lately--just slap it on there any old way and make some notes. Done. It's so easy and a nice walk down memory lane when looking back through. My first one of these dates back to when Jacob was a baby!

I like this idea for easy note making. One thing you could do to help is add those little post-it flags to each page. A color for each type of recipe. Pink for breads, blue for main dish, green for sides, yellow for desserts and so on.

Good thinking! I like the idea of room to take notes. I think the Post-It flag idea from Toby E. is a good one. By the way, I just added you to my blogroll...I hope that's OK.

Very pretty food journal. I like the idea of having dates for when I experimented w/different meals and documenting peoples responses to it.
