I stayed home the entire weekend and it was very refreshing. We read Little House in the Big Woods (the Christmas chapter and the chapter about Pa's gun), played games, made salad people, and cleaned out a cabinet for the art supplies), and Rainer sawed through the log you see in the picture above--all by himself! I made coffee cake on Saturday.

Only 3 more weeks of school left. And next weekend is Memorial Day. Hooray!! I think we are finally nearing the end.

Your salad people are adorable! I think doing things like that with food is fun for little ones, but my three year old vehemently disagrees. The one time I tried to be creative with her lunch I heard, "I don't like faces on food." before every meal time for a solid month afterwards. Congrats on making it through another school year. I'm a teacher too, and I'm counting down the days until June 8th. I enjoy my work, but at this point I'm really excited at the prospect of quality creative time with my own two little girls.

You know we are true Little House on the Prairie fans.....and the kids put on Season 1 disc 1 to start the marathon viewing once again. Luke is reading the series at the moment too.
Looks like you had the idealic weekend at home! How lovely!

I am just catching up here. Lovely images. I have thought about you and am wondering how all is going with your little one's health. The summer countdown is good. Time for grass under barefeet a little more often.

Love the fruit picture and the chinese checkers board. I haven't played that in years and it's so easy almost any age can play.

We LOVE those books! We're midway through Silver Lake now, and still loving these incredible stories!
