My little walk downtown on Saturday, with its stop at the thrift store, turned out to be quite nice. It was overcast and wintery--maybe some of the last of the wintery weather--and I had pretty good thrifting luck. I live in a cute and small town, and it is possible to do walks like this and combine them with practical errands, so I ask myself, why don't I do things like this more often??

Actually, I do know the answer--limited time is always an issue, with working and raising a family and all. But soon it will be summer, and I can be more mindful of walking places and enjoying where we live.

What sweet vintage finds!
Growing up my mother & I always lived within walking distance of our little village & I have such wonderful memories of walking into town & doing errands with her.

That's some lovely ribbon you have there! It looks like something out of a Jan Brett storybook!
I,too, like to walk to my local thrift shops or explore my town..

Oh, I love the butterfly on the sheet. What plans do you have for it. It has a lovely spring feel to it. Great finds. Enjoying your blog!

I wish my local thrift stores had some good gems in the piles. Maybe I should visit them more often than buying new things.

Wool Fairy--I'm planning a yellow patchwork comforter cover.

Melissa--I do think that's the key--visit often. I try not to get grumpy if I don't find anything . . .

Oh, how fun! I'd love to live in a walkable neighborhood (though the woods are nice too). that embroidered ribbon is fabulous...can't wait to see what you do with it.

I've been thrifting recently as well. Some great finds include a like new set of purple "t-shirt sheets" for my daughter's bed. They match her comforter perfectly! I also bought a white cotton sheet to make into napkins (haven't done the cutting and sewing yet though). Not too long ago I found a Dora bowl and plate for my daughter as well as a whole bunch of stickers!
I got a waffle maker for $3.99, should try it out this weekend!
Wow, I guess I've been pretty successful lately :)
