a merry christmas to all

We kept it super mellow today. We colored, cut a few more snowflakes, listened to a story CD that Dieter is really into right now, did a simple craft, went to the park, and picked up tamales for our dinner (and I made some beans and rice to go with them). In the evening we watched Father Christmas and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. All month, I kept saying I only planned to bake cookies if inspired to do so, and I never got inspired. But someone gave us a delicious tin of popcorn and we made hot chocolate with candy cane stirrers and all was well. Yum.

I loved Stephanie's post today.
Rachel has a wonderful post tonight too.

Have a joyous, real Christmas, everyone!

Merry Christmas Mary Beth & family! I too took things very simple this holiday season. Normally I bake like mad, thinking I *need* to give my neighbors & special friends yummy treats. Not this year, a simple Merry Christmas to them was plentiful & I was not stressed to the hilt, & my kitchen managed to stay clean! ;)

I should have followed your lead. I did too much we had too many visitors and at the end of the day I am looking at too many plastic toys given by loving wonderful relatives and wonder where the heck am I gonna put it all. Cheers to simple I vow to work on that next year as a resolution!

Glad to know you had a nice mellow Christmas. I made tamales a day before and also enjoyed it with Mexican rice and some yummy beans called "frijoles puercos" I think you would really like them. =)
