maine

Faith and I are on the beautiful coast of Maine! Faith is signed up for a two-week academic program at Boston University and I am officially here "dropping her off." But we came out a few days early so we can sightsee. Yesterday we visited Mackworth Island and it was beautiful! Love love love this area. We are especially enjoying how lovely and green everything is.

And we met the amazing Erin of Bluebirdbaby! She shot Faith for her senior pictures, and they are going to be gorgeous! (Erin has posted a little preview here). Erin herself is beautiful, warm, friendly, open, passionate, and down to earth. We had such a wonderful time getting to know her.

Here's a little video I shot with my i-pod, in case you have an extra minute and half to soak up some beauty of the Maine shoreline.

Wow, Mary Beth! How exciting! It looks like you are having a marvelous time in Maine. I was just outside Boston last week (up from NC, taking a class at the Steiner Institute), and I'm very disappointed that our paths didn't cross. I'm so excited for you and Faith that you've been able to soak up so much beauty. And Faith's pictures are awesome. I especially love the mama & daughter looking at each other shot. Erin is truly a fabulous photographer. Enjoy the rest of your trip, and I hope Faith enjoys Boston U.

Have so much fun in Maine, but you could cross the boarder and make your way over to Nova Scotia!!! ;)
Maine is very beautiful, we wanted to get there is summer.
Hope all is well, the boys must be missing you awefully bad, but it is great to probably have a couple just girl days with Faith.

My little sister just finished her 2nd year at BU Dental School! I'm only about 40 min, in Groton!

That's so exciting...will you be staying while she's doing the program, or heading back home?

Oh what a wonderful vacation!! And the photos of Faith look so amazing. Erin is quite a talent.

Enjoy Maine! Summertime in Maine is the best. My mother is from the Camden/Rockland area and if I could get over being a wimp about the cold, I would move there in a second!

What a lovely little video! I love the sea, and while I don't usually watch little videos, that was very peaceful as I gently noodle about on my phone during my recovery (brain tumor removal, sorry! Not to be dramatic!). I do love the world of blogging. Thank you for sharing. And isn't it fun to travel with our teens? I love watching my kids grow into adults.

Enjoy beautiful Maine. I lived in Portland for a bit and loved every day I was lucky enough to live there. Mackworth was one of our very favorite places to walk with out dog, or without. Did you build a fairy house? Your boys would love that. I look forward to more from your trip!

Oh how fun!

Green. One of the reasons I fell in love with the East Coast. Virginia is as green and beautiful. As you know I am originally from Southern California and well, it just doesn't compare. I also love the tranquility and slower lifestyle of Virginia. What I miss about Cali? My family and best friend. But I get to see them in Sept. Yey! So excited about that.

Ps. You are so good, posting during vacation. I've been back for three days and still have not been able to post a thing. Hahaha.

I was so suprised to open up your blog and see the title "Maine". I always think of you as so far away and well you were very close indeed! It looks as though you enjoyed your visit, it is a very beautiful time of the year here in Maine. How nice to get away-just the two of you. I wish I could have met you for a cup of tea...
