how we tell the klean kanteens apart

I love these plain Klean Kanteens. I actually think I'm less likely to tire of this clean aesthetic than I would be with a print or patterned water bottle. To tell them apart, each boy has a color: red for Rainer and blue for Dieter. When they get a drink we put their rubber band on it. Works like a charm.

We have 2 Kleen Kanteens, too. I just learned that the kids tell them apart from the small dent one of them has in it.

Brilliant! I was just reading, off Yahoo news, "12 things to do with a rubber band". : )

Happy Friday!

We have the same canteens and I have been thinking about doing something similar. Your idea is super simple though.

I'll have to use this one!! I'm not sure it will keep them from sharing, however. :)

That is genius!

What a fantastic and simple idea. I have three boys and am forever writing with a sharpie their name or initial to tell drink bottles apart, but I will definitely be doing this from now on. Thanks!

Brilliant!! I just bought a plain one (I don't like that the paint comes off the colored ones) but didn't know how to make them individual for the kids...now just have to figire out how to wear those other KKs out so I can justify new plain ones for the family, LOL!

Wonderful and simple solution...I used stickers on mine...but, they eventually fall off and fade...a rubber band, pure simplicity!

If you use the wide rubber bands, like from broccoli, you can write their names on it. I do this for school instead of buying those silly printed rubber bands.
