welcome march!

The nature table was in desperate need of a little freshen up, and the "winter" theme had to go. It's sunny and spring like here. Many of the trees are in bloom. I love these bright and pretty flowers from farmer's market.

Thanks for everyone's kind reception to my happiness project. I'm excited. This is my first blog post "on the timer." If my posts are light in the next few weeks, you'll know why. Tonight, I'll review my resolutions chart and check everything off if I did it.

March first. Two years ago Rainer was getting diagnosed with leukemia on this date. Not a fun diagnosis to hear, but it could have been so much worse. I'm happy to report that two years later he is happy and healthy and still under treatment (as a matter of fact, I take him to Santa Barbara for chemo tomorrow). We've been really blessed with good doctors and nurses and such effective cancer treatments that they have now. Rainer himself takes it mostly in stride. For instance, he has to take a daily med on an empty stomach, so he has to stay "NPO" for at least an hour before, then take the pill, and stay "NPO" for an hour after. He is so good about it. This afternoon when I mistakenly offered him some apple slices he very nicely asked, "am I still NPO?" It was very sweet. He reminded me that he couldn't eat yet. He's such a little trooper.

Your nature table makeover is quite lovely. I intended to makeover our table yesterday but it didn't happen. Maybe today (although we are supposed to get snow again tonight...bah!) Your story of Rainer makes my heart melt, as he always does. My youngest is 2 months younger than Rainer, and since I found your blog, about a year ago, I've felt a very special place in my heart for him. You and Rainer are both so strong and resilient. Blessing and warmth to both of you!

I need "spring like!" It is still winter here and on the North side of my house there is still snow that fell December 24th and has not completley melted. I cannot remember such a year and I am beyond tired of the cold and gray.

That Rainer is very amazing. And I am impressed everyday with how you have continued to live your lives with such grace. Hugs.

oh wow, two years. Your sweet wee boy is doing so well, what a trooper. It's amazing how resilient and strong little ones can be - a lot stonger than us adults at times.
Your nature table looks so sweet as usual. Is that a Nikki McClure print I see? or calendar. I LOVE her artwork so much.
