playing

{sand pie with flowers}
I was delighted the other day to walk outside and find the boys making these sand pies with flowers sticking out of them. And the project kept them very engaged.
{Rainer's sand pie}
It reminded me of the book Mud Pies and Other Recipes. I need to find our copy, I bet they'd love it.
{Rainer doing art}
More play: Rainer is very into drawing and cutting right now, especially cutting (and our house is littered with paper scraps to prove it).

You should also read them Mud Puddle by Robert Munsch (you can even listen to it on the website http://www.robertmunsch.com/books.cfm?bookid=29 he reads it so well). My three boys loved that story so much, we would yell out parts in such big voices, so fun. I miss having little ones to read to. Enjoy!

I have been reading your blog for a while now and I so enjoy the peaceful and homey feeling I get from it. I hope your family is as joyous as it seems to me.

very sweet. I'm looking forward to all the snow melting so we can see our sandbox again.

I would also love to come across a sand pie like that. Now I am off to check into that Robert Munch book.
