day at home with rainer

I've been staying home with Rainer two days a month this year--days when he goes to Santa Barbara for chemo and when he is on his steroid medication (which makes him grumpy and hungry). It's a blessing to get to spend some extra time with that little boy. Here are some pictures from the day:
He likes to paint and cut paper. He makes a huge mess with little bits of paper everywhere. He's very picky about what paper he uses--not just any scratch paper will do. It has to be a fresh sheet . . .
Playing with the farm. He's wearing the wool sweater my mom bought for Dieter a couple years ago. It was 42 degrees when I took Dieter to preschool in the morning, so somewhat justified. Of course it heats up into the 70's during the day, so definitely not wool sweater weather.
Resting. He seems to need extra rest on these days. Tomorrow I'm taking him to stay with my parents and I'll go to work. He loves staying with them and always has a good time there. Happy almost weekend!

It looks like you have some lovely time together, despite the reason for needing it.
Rainer is looking so well these days. He's looking so grown up with all that lovely hair growth too. I hope everything is going well for him x

I'm glad you get some extra time with Rainer, though not glad for the reason. He seems like such a sweetie. My just turned 3 year old loves his new scissors too. He'll only make one cut though then tear the paper the rest of the way. It's so funny. :)
