We had a sweet and good Christmas. How about you? Even amidst simplifying greatly this year, I'm having thoughts about and ideas for keeping it even simpler next year, and emphasizing connectedness and family even more. My best moments of Christmas were experiencing my children's sense of joy and wonder.

Beautiful! Love the boys toys. I'll bet they were thrilled. We had a largely handmade Christmas and it felt so simple and right to me. I plan to continue that tradition. My youngest just turned 3 on Christmas day so we try to keep that a simple celebration as well. (He received the art caddy I admired so much on your blog.) I came here via The Misadventures of Kelly and Kelly and thank goodness I did. I am trying my best to get rid of all the plastic toys in our house and just have a few simple wooden toys that encourage the imaginative play that my three year old boys are into. Can you please tell me where you got that lovely boat and truck. They are wonderful! Can't wait to read more of your blog tomorrow during nap time.

Hi Annie! We too have ditched most of the plastic and replaced it with wood. The trick is keeping plastic out of the house--so many things are given to them just randomly! This Christmas season I shopped for the boys at Rosie Hippo Toys (for the pirate ship) and The Wooden Wagon (for the big truck--they have a huge selection of them and they all look wonderful). I especially like doing business with The Wooden Wagon--their shipping is so reasonable and they are very responsive in their customer service. Enjoy!
