bonus studio morning

Wednesday I had an extra free studio morning-- it was delightful. We all had the day off and Ken took the boys for a couple hours so I could finish a project I was working on. Thank you, Ken!
I was very much wanting to take down our birthday garland from October and put up something more Novembery. It was one of those projects I had so much in my head and I really needed to do and complete it. I decided to follow the guidelines in Handmade Home for the One-Word Banner.
I worked on it in three mini-sessions. The first night I just selected fabrics. I love this part of a sewing project. It is such a fun challenge for me to select colors and patterns to go together.

The second night I cut the pieces.
Then on Wednesday I was able to put it all together.
Voila! I am so happy with my Novembery banner and hopefully it will remind us all to give thanks during this most special month.

Beautiful!!! I love the birds. I have been eyeing up this project as well. I love how you used it. It has inspired me to perhaps try and do a holiday version for December. I am so impressed that you use your free time for getting crafty.

Beautiful! What a great idea! If I weren't currently swamped with other projects, I'd make a THANKS banner too. The fabrics are simply lovely.

Im yet to learn to sew...but I LOVE the idea of a THANKS banner! Maybe will make a banner with handmade paper cutouts or simply paint it over on a canvas and keep it on my happiness altar for a year-round reminder of gratitude!

I love how it turned out. I bought some felt remnants last week at the fabric store because I, too, want to make a thanksgiving banner--yours turned out so much cuter than what I'd envisioned for mine--maybe I'll change my plans now!

I love it! I'm still trying to get my act together and make a birthday banner from the creative family. lol
My deadline is in just a few weeks when my youngest turns 3. Maybe I'll even get to the b-day crown. I am still a novice seamstress.

I just hit your blog with the blogger "next blog button" and loved the special photos and crafts - also I might get hooked to your recipes, I love cooking, too.

The THANKS banner is beautiful and a great reminder to be thankful in this season.

Will be back :-)
