thrifting finds

Here are some of my thrifting finds from today. {cute vintage-y apron}

{6-cup muffin tin, etc.}
{bird plate}
{sunflower plate}
{dragonology}
{vinyl tablecloth for protecting the table during art projects}
{wood hangers}
I definitely have been inspired by the section on thrifting in Handmade Home. In it, Soulemama says that 90% of her family's clothing comes from thrift stores. That's very impressive! The book is about repurposing old fabrics into new family treasures so of course I was looking for old fabrics as well. I can't wait to start some of the projects in the book.

What have you been thrifting lately?

I love the apron, would have been a tug of war if i was there. I have been eyeing off the exact same plate at our local thrift store. I have a mountain of thrifted plates so i find it hard to justify bringing any more home.
I'm still waiting for my copy of Hand made home. Fingers crossed it comes this week

That apron is a treasure - top find! My favourite floral pyjama trousers came to the end of their life. With the help of a friend they're now a garden bench cushion cover. Satisfying stuff.

I keep finding really interesting pre war cook books. They are fascinating to read, I think there's a lot to learn from them.

Those clothes hangers make great display stands for photographs and postcards!

That apron is just adorable! I was also inspired by Soulemama's thrifting. Now I just need to figure out where around here I can find stuff like that. :)

LOVE the fun apron! I thrifted a cute child's red rocking chair and a vintage baby blanket/kimono this past week.

I can see if we'd all been there we'd have had a huge free for all over that apron!

I find great stuff at yard sales nearly every week. But probably the best deal so far this year is the pair of Jones New York slacks, my size, fifty cents--and when I got them home I found a dollar in the pocket!

I would fall over if I found that apron when thrifting! It's great...along with all your other finds. I found this great apron last weekend when thrifting as well!

I just picked up a princess dress at Goodwill for my 4 year old this week. Not my taste but she LOVES it. Seeing your amazing finds makes me want to grab my keys and head to the thrift store right now.

I Love the apron!! We are lucky to have several really good thrift stores near us. I actually posted recently about 10 of my favorite thrifty treasures... from a vintage sewing machine from 1911 in working order, to my favorite dress.

Just got my copy of Handmade Home today... at Amanda's book signing!! I'm signing off in a few minutes and curling up with it for the night :-)

Oh my gosh! That apron fabric!! My grandma had that fabric. My cousin has the most awesome quilt made from it. Would love to get my hands on some. Great find!

that apron material, I also had some... It came from a craft I made (a apron) back in the early 70's. It was a craft club called ( National Handicraft Society)..
