a simple moment

Taking just a few moments for outdoor embroidery while my boys played in their sandbox. I must remember to do this more often--bring out the handwork even if I can only take a few stitches. Dieter and Rainer love their outdoor after-dinner playtime and how peaceful it was for me too to have a minute or two to work on this little embroidery.
Wishing you some peaceful outdoor moments this weekend!

My kids are just getting to the age of playing well together, makes a little more time for moments of crafting.

Beautiful embroidery. And I *love* your shoes.

I love your shoes too. :) Those simple moments are the best, aren't they? I frequently knit in the driveway while my kids ride bikes. A very pleasant way to spend the evening. About the fabrics on my handle sleeve, they aren't Superbuzzy, although I love Superbuzzy. They are leftovers from whatever I happened to find one evening at Joanne's back in the spring when I needed a sudden stack of fat quarters for making a quicky banner. :)

I just wanted to tell you how lovely "Salt and Chocolate" is. Your writing is descriptive and heartfelt, and I always feel both calmed and inspired when I read it. Embroidery, for example, is not something I've done as an adult, yet the little owl is so sweet it makes me think stitchery would be a beautiful way to cherish the memory of my oma, who was a great lady at all things handmade.
Thank you!
