buttons, water

Has anyone else had a tough transition to daylight savings time? It's been difficult over here--especially for Rainer (and me). We've kept the boys to they're same schedule, but the little one just can't fall asleep at night. Mornings have their issues too. Like right now, I'm up early to post. He's "supposed" to sleep while I post, but as soon as I'm up, he's up. So there's been not much posting this week so far.
Over the weekend we were very mellow. No baking projects, no crafting or sewing whatsoever. I've been sick a couple times this winter (unusual for me) and my body was just telling me to slow down. So we rested, and while they slept I read--a book, not the computer, for a change. It felt healthy.
Sunday morning we got out a huge jar of thrifted buttons my mom had brought over a few weeks ago. I just thought we'd sort them into colors so they are more usable, but it turned out to be an enormously fun kid project. Dieter in particular loved sorting the buttons and the project held his attention for a long time. We ended up just mixing them up again because Dieter wants to play with them again sometime.

Later, there was waterplay too.
Hope you all had a good weekend and are adjusting to the time change better than we are!

Daylight savings time was hard here too, but I think we're starting to get straightened out. You and Soulemama must be on the same wavelength this morning. :) She's all buttoned up as well. It looks like the boys are having a great time with both the buttons and the water.

I hate Daylight Savings Time, probably because I am an early riser and now I have to wake up in the dark again...blah.

Your kids are so cute and what great projects with the buttons and the water. Beautiful pics, too, you have a great eye!

What a nice activity, playing with buttons. It looks fun.

We are all having a tough time adjusting to daylight savings time. We have been running late all week because the sun isn't bright enough to wake us until about 7:20...and we all really need to be moving by 7. I think with DST being so early this year, it's more noticeable.

I need to get my hands on some thrifted buttons somewhere. Partially for myself for crafting and also because I think my littlest would love sorting them all too!!

DST is so far so good for us.

i just popped over from soulemama's blog, too. buttons on the brain today!

before kids, i loved to "fall back" because it meant sleeping in a bit in the morning, now i dread any time change because it messes with my kids' sleep. hope you guys get your rhythm back soon.

Buttons are a huge hit here too--my boys like to scoop them into a cup and pour them down a cardboard tube into an old tea tin (makes a good noise).

Jack has always loved sorting buttons just like that.

I think daylight savings is horrible once you have kids. Honestly, its like some cruel joke. LOL

Daylight savings is a breath of fresh air for us, just gives us a bit more energy in the evenings and hope that spring is on the horizon. However I do find it takes a week before we're all adjusted sleep-wise!

Love the button shots, great kid activity! And we are still adjusting over here too, though it has meant later mornings, which is nice.

Monday was tough, but Tuesday and Wednesday were ok. The baby didn't seem to have noticed the change, but the 3 year old is dragging a bit.

I love the buttons.
