two pillows and a book

I covered two pillows this weekend. I'm very excited to be moving forward with this project that has been in my head for several weeks now. Our couch pillows are very boring neutrals from Ikea. I've been wanting to cover them in something brighter for a long time--I'm 100% over neutrals. Time is the only limiting factor. So here are the first two.
The navy fabric is from Ikea as well. Click on the photo and you can see how cute it is. It has birds.
Here are the backs. One has mismatched fabric ties. The other mismatched buttons, which I am liking very much.
And here is the book that inspired the "home" pillow.
I'm loving this book. It's very inspiring photos about living with young children and incorporating them into the decorating. The homes are all expensive and lovely, but something about the book retains a down to earth quality. There's actually quite a bit of text about life with children, family routines, eating together, that sort of thing. I'm really enjoying it.

These are just random pages I opened too. Not even my favorites, actually, but just to give you an idea.

Wonderful pillows! Love the fabrics and the mismatched ties and buttons on the back. And I'm with you- I'm totally over neutrals, too.

Love the two pillos...actually I recently bought my daughter a dress with that same fabric(one with the birds) and also from an Etsy vendor called Zoma.
I'm enjoying reading your blog...I went to find the Calendar you had purchased after reading a very similar incident a while back when I forgot a doctor's appointment...and rarely forget things...but with 2 little ones there's lots to think about.
Anyway...she didn't have anymore calendar books...boohoo...

Kristi--it is The Family at Home by Anita Kaushal. I bought mine used on Amazon. It's a real treat--eye candy.

Thanks for the pillow love, everyone!
