little hearts

It is raining here right now and I am so happy and relieved. It's been unseasonably hot--in the 80's--for about a week and a half, and I've been very grumpy about it. There's no air conditioning at my school, everyone seems to freak out a little. It occurs to me it's not usually so hot at any point in the school year, especially not in January. So I'm happy for a little cool and rain.
And these hearts are putting a smile on my face. The boys fingerpainted over the weekend. I let them do just as many sheets as they wanted--a lot. They had fun. Those were some of the pictures I lost--of them painting and of all the sheets drying on the table. I cut some of them into hearts for a little vertical garland. We may do more for Valentine's day. Dieter is starting to get into cutting. I do need to get him some scissors other than these scallop ones though.
I'm tired today. I took a nap after work, which I never do. Maybe that's a good thing--to get some extra sleep every now and again.

My goodness, 80 degrees! It's been below zero around here for the last 2 weeks, I'm a little envious.

Love the vertical garland!

Those hearts are so sweet. I bet the kiddies love to look, see their art on the walls and think of how much they're loved.

Great idea - my 3 year old loves any excuse to fingerpaint.

And wow...I can only imagine 80 degrees! We're having a heat wave today at about 50 - last week it was hovering around zero!

Oh! That is precious! I love that idea so much, such a simple thing, and so easy to keep from year to year!

I can only imagine 80 degrees. It is below freezing here. And what school in southern California doesn't have air conditioning?

Shannon--we're very coastal, so haven't really needed it. Usually it's cool and lovely in Oxnard where I work.

I don't understand the tiredness either! Thursday night I came home from work (not even 5:00 p.m.!) and I was so tired I drifted off right there in the living room! Fortunately, I was able to get to bed thanks to Green Husband holding down the fort...maybe we're not sleeping well, even when we are sleeping?!
