Gift Bags

I just love the way these little gift bags turned out. They were such fun to make. It's so satisfying when you have an image of how you want something to be, then you get to figure out how you want to do it. That is my favorite part about sewing.
These are going to contain sunflower seeds from our garden--not for eating though. They're for growing--so the recipient can start his or her own sunflower patch.
I'm making thumbprint cookies as I write this post. They're delightful--I've tried one already. I decided to go with the recipe in Ina's book, Barefoot Contessa Family Style. It's wonderful.

Love this Mary Beth! The presenation is amazing!! My six year old saves the seeds from the pumpkins she plants herself and gives them as presents to her friends. She makes her own packaging too from colouring sheets of paper and folding them into little bags. I'll have to show her your idea as inspiration!

lovely little bags - I'm on the hunt for some decent linen at the mo. At the end of last term Milo gave his teacher some sunflower seeds because she is a bright sunny person and she helped him to grow. Seeds are a brilliant idea..

Those bags are darling. I love how you used the pinking shears for teh top. I've been sewing some bags to be used instead of wrapping paper this year, and I'm going to do that for the rest because it's so cute and it will save time.
