Update

Thanks so much to all of you who have been praying and sending positive thoughts, vibes, and wishes. Rainer is doing so much better. Huge sigh of relief. It turns out that little guy lacks an enzyme that most people have. Due to this lack of enzyme, he wasn't able to properly process all his chemo drugs from this last round, which wreaked havoc on several of his little body systems. Now we know. He can still go for needed chemo, he'll just have his dose adjusted in the future.

He's feeling a lot better, is happier, playing, smiling, and talking so amazingly much, with sentences and everything--it really warms my heart. And he might be discharged today! So stay tuned for more regular posting soon and thanks again for all your kind words.

I feel a big sigh of relief. It is amazing how far doctors have come in the area of cancer research. I really wish more people would get on the bandwagon in donating to the cause. I really hope I live to see the day that the headlines read "CURE FOUND"

I hope he is able to go home today.

Oh Mary Beth,
What a relief!! Thought I check out just before going to bed (it's midnight here in Holland) and this makes me feel a lot better.
I feel so connected to you, although we never met, but it's because we are both mothers in our fouties with young childeren and because of the way you write, it fills my heart. I give a big virtual hug to Rainer and you and also think about Dieter, Ken and the others.
Love, Ria
