Fresh Lemonade, Anyone?

Faith's friend Lizzie invited her out to lunch Sunday as a belated birthday present. I thought that was a delightful thing to do! Lizzie's mama picked up Faith and dropped the girls off at the restaurant. After, they walked back to the house and decided to have a lemonade stand. It was so much fun.
The girls bought concentrates for the two lemonade flavors and put all this together themselves. I thought they did a darling job making their stand appealing. Later, Dieter joined them and I think he helped their sales. One lady said she really loved the girls' smiles, bought a lemonade, and gave them a $20 and told them to keep the change! Later I told Faith that lady must practice "random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty" and that Faith should "pay it forward." She didn't really get it at first, but now she's totally onboard. She's going to make one of her trademark patchwork scrap pencil pouches for a friend and school who admired Faith's.
One of the highlights of the afternoon, for me, was when the girls choreographed a little lemonade selling dance and sang "Don't you want some Lemonade?" to the tune of "Don't You Want Somebody to Love?" by Jefferson Airplane. We invited Lizzie to dinner and the girls hung out and did each other's hair.
Isn't it wonderful to enjoy life's simple pleasures?

Love the fact that you inspired your daughter to "pay it forward".

I remember a lemonade stand I had with my best girlfriend one summer. I am so glad to see your daughter had so much fun. I like the flowers. Nice touch.

My husband and I were reading this post together this morning and I said, "Isn't that so cute?" and my husband said, "We would have stopped to get lemonade from them."

The girls look sweet in their dresses :)

It's so refreshing to see the girls doing something productive/creative with their time! I haven't seen anything like that for such a long time and it restores my faith in humankind after such a long week of frustrations with people in general!

I'm so happy to hear that she "got" your inspiration to pass the good deed along...what a wonderful mother and her young lady!

Thank you for sharing!

Very cute stand!

Brings back memories of my business ventures with my friend as a kid - we made Jiffy corn muffins to go with the lemonade and had the profit margins all figured out so we could stay in business forever. Worked great until my partner decided she had to eat some of the muffins herself, and there went our profit margins . . .
