Freezer Jam

Freezer jam has been sweeping blogland! I got inspired and decided to jump in. I'm not going to lie to you: this stuff is sweet. Very sweet. But delicious and summery and special because it's not from the store.
I used farmer's market strawberries. A 3-pack, our usual order, is more than enough for a batch of freezer jam.
The beauty of freezer jam is that you don't have to sterilize the jars or worry about canning whatsoever. It's as easy as any other cooking project you might attempt. And because it's not cooked, the jam tastes fresh. The downside is that freezer jam is always soft set. It just is.

Oddly, it sits out for the first 24 hours. After that, it's into the fridge or freezer.
As part of our lunch today. Heaven on a slice of bread!

I made raspberry freezer jam this weekend, and next time I will definitely buy the less sugar pectin!

I made the strawberry jam for the first time ever a couple of weeks ago, and yes, it is very sweet! I may try the sugar free pectin next time--because there will be a next time!

Raspberries and blueberries are just starting up around here, so I'm interested in trying those too. I love your jars--they're so pretty!

I agree--the less sugar pectin must be looked into!
