Lazy, Hazy, Crazy

We like summer. It is fun. Yesterday, our morning went like this: Dieter wanted three cereals, all in separate bowls, all dry. This is Kashi Mighty Bites, Cheerios, and Apple-Cinnamon Cheerios. Can you guess which one he finished first?
After breakfast, it was out to the front porch to try the sidewalk paint activity. It was a huge hit, and here is what I found: I loved being outdoors with my boys.

Rainer did more freestanding by the lavendar bush.
He likes to take the dried blossoms and smell them and wrinkle his nose. We call them "crunchy flowers."
Dieter tried wrinkling his nose too. After the painting we had orange pops outdoors, very summery, then it was bathtime, lunch, and naps. I'm changing Dieter over to a rest time instead of a nap and it's working so well. It makes bedtime easier because he's tireder.

Today we're celebrating the Summer Solstice, one day early. Faith's dance concert is on the 21st, Saturday, which is our anniversary, so everything is pushed up one day. We'll celebrate our anniversary on Friday. Monday is my birthday (the 23rd). And apparently, traditional Midsummer celebrations take place on the 24th. But that's too much all compacted together. We'll celebrate Midsummer on our own midsummer, around July 19th.

Whew, that's a lot, isn't it? Happy Solstice to you!

Wow, what a celebration-filled weekend! Have a good one ;)

I make the same face as Rainer when I smell lavender. Unlike my mother, I just never really liked it much.
