The Freezer Paper Stencil Bug Has Bitten

There was not much time for crafting over the weekend, but I was motivated to stencil some T-shirts for the boys. After the success of Rainer's pants, and my first freezer paper stencils, and the applique T-shirts, I'm now very into dressing these boys in hand crafted clothing. Usually girls are the ones that are fun to dress, but it is such a fun challenge to clothe these boys interestingly.
For Rainer, a drum set and a mushroom on onesies.
For Dieter, a skull and crossbones (for his pirate dress up) and a T-rex on Old Navy T-shirts.
Jacob was here over the weekend and I asked him to sketch the skull and crossbones for his little brother. He did a great job--sketched several and let me choose. He also made a bird, but by that time I'd lost steam and didn't get to it. Next weekend I want to do more though. Faith and I are both in love with the mushroom and I offerred to do one for her too.
Yesterday after work I peeled off the papers to reveal the stencils--that part is so fun. Rainer was a willing model. Alas, Dieter was not, so I'll have to get pictures of him later.
And just a little Rainer update--this baby is getting stronger by the day! He stands holding onto something for a long time now, even just holding on with one hand and doing something with the other. It is a wonderful thing to see this little boy gaining strength!

The mushroom's my fav too. Where did you get the dinosaur stencil? I may have to steal that for my little dino-fanatic. And woohoo for Rainer!

And the freezer paper stencils look great. I especially love the drumset motif. Very rock & roll baby :) Ivo's favorite would be the T-rex I bet. We'll probably copy you sometime soon!

Good to hear Rainer is getting stronger. I'd love to have a go at those stencils but we don't have freezer paper in the UK,(at least I don't think we do!) and I've no idea what the equivalent would be! I think I liked the drum kit stencil best, my boys would love it. x

hi, me again :). I had to go back and read about your son's cancer since I'm new to your blog. I think my son is near Rainer's age, and I just can't even imagine how scary this must be for all of you. Though it sounds like it's a slow process, I'm so happy that he's on the mend and is regaining strength. What an amazing little guy you've got.

The t shirts are so cool. I have a big roll of freezer paper so I should really do these. My daughter would love to design her own t's.
Glad to hear Rainer is getting so much stronger.

Hey! Im sooo glad to hear that Rainer's doing well! And I love the stencilled prints. I have a 2 year old nephew and always looking out for great ideas. I think home made or hand crafted stuff make way better gifts and are so personal! Cheerio!
