Pants Week!

All week long, during Rainer's naps, I've been working on these pants for him. It's been so much fun! Little guy's tummy is all round and bloated from the medication he is currently on and his days right now consist mostly of being carried around and lounging in mommy's arms and nursing--so he needs soft loose pants that are light and comfy on him. I started the week with the denim clamdigger length pants with train trim. Those were a big success and that just spurred me along.
Tuesday I had so much fun doing the beige twill pants with the bird fabric trim at the hems (it was a challenge figuring out how to apply the cuff fabric--I wanted the seams totally enclosed and I had to make sure the birds ended up right side up).
Wednesday I was very industrious--I made these linen blend pants with fairytale pockets and the last pair--100% linen in green with tree pockets and "little boy blue come blow your horn" trim. Then finally yesterday I had time to photograph them while Rainer napped before our trip to Santa Barbara. (He wore the fairytale pants).

I've really had so much fun making these pants. Crafting is such a nice stress reliever for me right now. I'm still just using the Flickr tutorial I've linked to in the past for the basic pants instructions. I added more length to the rise this time (I have a history of making pants to low-rise for my babies), then just added the trims as my fancy dictated. And how does the little guy like them? He likes them fine--just as long as he's being carried around and nursing all day, everybody's happy.

Those are all so great! I love the trim. I really should learn to sew, I'd buy the petite pants which always end up too short and add fairy tale trim!

The pants look great - I have some of the same fabric - very cute. Want to also extend prayers for your little one and for you and the rest of your family. Waiting is so difficult.

I just came across your blog yesterday. I love the pants and they've reminded me that i need to make some for my girls whose current pants seem to have fallen out with their shoes! Thanks :)

Those pants are adorable. And you continue to amaze me with your upbeat, can-do attitude. And further, if you have made it through all of your recent ordeals without Diet Coke, you are a much better woman than I!
:-)
Still praying for Rainer!

Love the pants! They are too cute, and the trim is so sweet. I'm afraid my son might be too old to wear them (he's 4)--I'm pretty sure my husband would find them too baby-ish for him. I may try it anyway!

Glad to hear you're finding a creative outlet. I'm keeping you and Rainer in my prayers.
