So last night we did have our annual Trail of Hearts and Dieter loved it. All the kids "hide" in the bedrooms and when the trail is ready they come out and walk along it (it weaves in and out in a curvy pattern and amongst furniture) to find a basket of Valentine treats--books, these crayons, and the molded chocolates. I'm trying to keep things simple around here, thus simple gifts. Dieter loved following the trail of hearts and did so several times after the fact, then later plopped himself down on the floor amongst all the hearts to drink a bottle. So cute and such pure childlike pleasure.

That is so cool. I wish you'd have posted about it a few days ago!
Those are so cute!
These look great- and I love the trail of hearts idea. You have such lovely traditions!
they are really lovely, I love the trail of hearts idea too, we don't have any valentines traditions, need to start some!
I tried making crayons once, and must have baked them for far too long becuase all the colours mixed and we got murky brown...
yours are lovely!
i think that these
turned out awesome!
:)
Just discovered your blog! Really like this crayon idea - they look good enough to eat :)
What a great idea, I might have a go at doing these for easter gifts! Just popped over from a UK blogger who said you gave her the meaning of Valentines day back! What a honour!
Will pop back soon
yours turned out really nicely. when i tried it all the colors got muddled together. maybe the quality of the crayons is important?
plus, some of the moms of the kids i gave them to complained they looked too much like food!! that's what i get for trying to make a homemade, creative party favor, eh?
i have a dedicated pan now, too.
What a fabulously great idea! I love how they turned out.
