Future New Blouse

I bought fabric this weekend for a new blouse. I'm excited now that the Christmas sewing is done that I can do something for myself and without time deadlines too. I actually bought the fabric with this pattern in mind, but now am thinking of the Built by Wendy pattern I've pictured, but with the dress sleeves on the blouse (as I've seen out there in blogland, including here, on our beloved Soulemama blog). The other two patterns I've shown here are also very yummy, I've made that New Look pattern before (shown here). The middle pattern is super cute, but it's going to be more complicated with the seam under the bustline--I'll save that one for summer when I have more time.
Last night I let Faith cut my bangs. I didn't have bangs before--she cut them for me. Eek! Was that total madness? I guess I was ready for a change, people. But it was fun and a little bit impulsive and definitely a childlike pleasure. And I have an appointment with my regular haircutter February 2nd so she will clean things up. I have to say, Faith has a very good eye for fashion and she did a pretty good job. We were joking around "make me look like Alexis Bledel" (because she rocks the bangs in season 7 of Gilmore Girls which we are all into right now). It was fun.
Thank you so much to everyone who sent me kind wishes yesterday regarding my annoying cold. I am getting better gradually, and I do feel a lot better than last week. It really has been a good reminder to get more rest and to eat well. Happy Tuesday!

Your bangs look great!

I have both of those Built by Wendy patterns, but have only sewn a shirt from 3835. I also have that other one you like (with the Flickr group) and I've had the fabric pieces cut for ages, but I haven't gotten around to finishing it. Maybe seeing your great new shirt will be the motivation I need!

I litereally just had a should I get bangs conversation with my husband last night! I also thought of Alexis Bledel! Sooo funny! I have not had bangs in almost 20 years so I just can't decide, but you might have just inspired me! I might chicken out though....oh what to do what to do.

You are so brave. You know I told my children to never let ME near their hair with a pair of scissors. They were to run screaming as though I intended them bodily harm. And I don't think I would let Anna cut my hair. She wants a new hair cut...a "David Bowie mullet" (from the one from the movie Labyrinth as I think he has had several mullets). Very scary!

Hi MB,

Sorry you haven't been feeling well - our family loves oatmeal (nice transition, eh?) so I'll have to try your recipe. Faith did a great job with your bangs and your hair looks de-lovely in general. Glad you're back on the sewing spree - My favorite of yours so far is the Mummy Tummy tunic you made a while back. :)

Your bangs look great! And I look forward to seeing how the shirt turns out- I'd like to make one like that myself if I even get brave enough to try sewing clothing!
