Autumn Leaf Cookies

I do like a seasonal cookie. There's just something so festive and appealing about sugar cookies cut into seasonal shapes. And now that I have such a willing little helper we're making even more. These autumn leaf cookies are especially fun and simple because they're not frosted.
Color your sugar cookie dough with food coloring.
Smash them together a little and roll them out.
Cut them out so a little of each color shows.
There you have it--autumn leaves! Dieter loved the dough, but not the cookies! Oh well--he had fun anyway.
