Signs of Fall

Halloween is coming. My mother found these socks for Dieter at the Bargain Box.
And this weekend we started gathering our supplies. The bags and florist's tape is for the pumpkin treat bags (like the ones here) and the pattern--the pattern Dieter chose himself. I took him to Joanne's and he sat on my lap and we looked at all the costumes. He didn't know what to expect at first, but he quickly settled in. Honestly, he was very attracted to the princess dresses, and then the Santa costume; I steered him away from those, and we settled on this pattern with six animals. All day and the whole next day he carried it around and wanted to show people and wanted to just hang out for a little bit and talk about the pattern. So so cute. I think he's leaning toward the bunny. I ordered the fabric from fabric.com--no scary fake fur or expensive velour--just soft cotton flannel in brown. That way he can be a brown bunny, or the bear, or even the cat or monkey. Things are getting pretty exciting around here as we ramp up for his first Halloween.
