Allow me a little walk down memory lane. Zack, Poppy Rose, and Star Baby are the dolls I made for Jacob and Faith when they were young. Now they are big teenagers, but they both still have their dolls. Zack was the first. I ordered him as a kit from Magic Cabin and made him when I lived in Wichita, whenever Jacob and Faith were napping. Jacob played with Zack a lot, somewhat in a nurturing way, but what I remember more is him making Zack do flips or crazy stunts or swinging him around adventurously.
Faith loved her dollies too, and to this day she refuses to share them with her baby brothers or even to let me wash them! I very much want Rainer and Dieter to have handmade toys too and got a good start on that at Easter time with the bunnies. And in the future, who knows? More Waldorf dolls? Sock and Glove creatures? Matryoshka dolls? All of the above? I hope so!

Mary Beth - what are Waldorf dolls?
Hi Amy. Waldorf dolls are the type of dolls seen in the post. They're connected to Waldorf education, made completely of natural fibers (including wool stuffing) and the faces have neutral expressions so the child can freely imagine the mood of the doll. That's all I know--I just like them.
I was just thinking today how I'd like to replace some of my children's plastic, electronic toys (most were given as gifts and not chosen by us) with handmade ones! Thanks for the post!
I love seeing how well-loved they are!!!
