Carrie's Visit

Spring Break ended with a bang with a visit from my good friend Carrie (who traveled all the way from Kansas). We always have a blast, and this time was no exception. Highlights from the trip include:
Thrifting in downtown Ventura, two new "prom" dresses, (and two Target runs) . . .
Many coffee and tea times (she loved the cookie breakup), eating lots of brownies, and poached eggs for breakfast every day . . .
A Saturday morning hike at the confluence with Ken and Dieter and Rainer--skipping stones, seeing big construction equipment, herons, ducks, and big horses (Dieter loved it all) . . .
Carrie carrying Rainer around, both of us remarking on how fast they grow . . .

We love to talk in person, and this visit included intense conversations on topics such as Angelina's latest adoption (and our own "twisted double lives"), the long top trend, the relative merits/disadvantages of franchises moving into town, and of why we may patronize (or not) franchises vs. locally owned businesses, the patient dumping situation in L.A., whether or not blogging is really any different from mailing out braggy Christmas letters, and the post-partum shape of my tummy.

Carrie, you're a great friend and I'm so glad you took time out of your busy life to come visit. Can't wait to see you this summer!

I wouldn't have missed it for the world! Thank you so much for having me. I didn't end up at home until near 2:30 am! More about that later. Off to try to enjoy part of my double twisted life.

Wow - your blog is a whole a lot better than a Christmas letter! You really made it interesting with all the pictures. It was great to get caught up with your family. Your little ones are adorable! The Mommy Tummy book cracked me up! I think a lot of women need that book whether they have had children or not! I can't believe how much Faith and Jacob have grown! I think you need to think about writing a helpful tips book for MOMs!
