Wow. I've been out of blog land for a long time. Haven't had that much to post about, but here, finally, is my latest craft accomplishment. A tote. I've made this tote several times, for friends, and one (very ugly) one for myself, but I've never been that happy with the fabrics I've been able to find. All that has changed now, my freinds, with the discovery of on-line fabric stores. Oh my gosh--beautiful fabric is available to me now, and it has really re-sparked my interest in sewing. The fabric is the thing. Incidentally, my discovery of online fabrics coincides with the discovery that our local Fabric Town is carrying much cuter fabric too. So things are good (except that I've recently spent too much on fabric. But it's all good--I'm planning on making gifts, for Christmas, starting now).Anyway, here I've used Amy Butler fabric purchased online, along with green babywale corduroy I bought locally. Love it, love it. I've really wanted this type of moss green corduroy since I started making these bags, but just haven't been able to find it. The other thing I did differently this time was alternate the fabrics so you can see both at once (rather that have the print as just a lining). I'm excited about the way it turned out. Next project: pillows.

I'm not sure you'll get this as the post is so old, but I'm new to your blog (which I mightily enjoy!). I was wondering where you got the pattern for this tote bag - I'm a bit of an addict. And where do you find all of the great fabric you use for your projects - from Lotta Jansdotter's site?
I have two year old twins and haven't been at my sewing machine in a long time. Your blog has really inspired and encouraged me to get going again. You are an incredibly impressive woman.

Hi Nelli. I find it very flattering that you're reading my older posts. I don't have that pattern any longer--I really got sick of making it, but it is a good tote because it has a gusset all along the side and back, thus making it nice and roomy. I think it was a Simplicity pattern, if that helps. I buy most of my fabric from Superbuzzy, Sew Mama Sew, or Cia's Pallette. When I was new to online fabric shopping (as I was in this post) I was buying some fabric at Fabric.com. Hope that helps!
